Inventively blending the ancient with the modern in a concert carefully curated to take the listener on a journey from the first note to the last, the 12 Ensemble begin with their own arrangement of Dowland's haunting renaissance elegy and seamlessly slip into the 21st century. With iconic modern masterpieces alongside a brand new commission from RPS 2021 composer Jonathan Woolgar, the ensemble return full-circle to end with Biber's astonishingly progressive 17th Century 'Battalia', a work that in itself transcends time and space.
