We've put together a very special new programme for the Wigmore Hall's celebrated online lockdown series. Tune in live on Tuesday 24 November at 7.30pm.
WILD HUNGARIAN DANCE MUSIC
timeless Renaissance beauty
An ode to Albion
+ a Kanye West collaborator
Elizabethan composer John Dowland's Lachrimae Antiquae transports us to a world of melancholic beauty and Renaissance dance; a world then refracted and reimagined in Pulitzer prize-winning American composer Caroline Shaw's brilliant Entr'acte. Bartók's electrifying Divertimento for Strings follows before Thomas Adès wistful ode to England, O Albion, closes the concert with quietly-powerful prayer.
The concert will be live streamed on the Wigmore Hall's website [link above] & social media accounts and is FREE to watch across the world.
The concert will also be available on demand for 30 days.
