Artist in Residence at London's Wigmore Hall for the 23/24 season, 12 Ensemble presented four striking concerts with music that arced from the 17th century to the modern day. Highlights included Vivier's rarely performed cult work Zipangu, contemporary works by John Luther Adams, Sofia Gubaidulina and Anna Clyne, collaborations with artists Samson Tsoy, Tine Thing Helseth, Fleur Barron, and a new commission from Oliver Leith for Sean Shibe, GBSR Duo and 12 Ensemble.
In 2025 12 Ensemble returned to the hall for two programmes featuring Messiaen's symphonic meditation L’Ascension (IV. Prayer of Christ Ascending Towards His Father), Rautavaara's Concerto for Birds, contemporary works by Oliver Coates, Tom Coult, and a new commission from Isabella Gellis.
Looking ahead to 2026, 12 Ensemble delve into the golden-era of Hollywood cinema, shining a light on works by Eric Korngold, Franz Waxman and Bernard Herrmann. The group will also collaborate with artists Iestyn Davies, Hélène Clément and Jonathan Leibovitz, celebrating the music of John Dowland alongside composers Nico Muhly, Thomas Adès and Benjamin Britten.
